While Ice fishing how many times were you checked by the F&G last winter? - windriver - 05-31-2012
For the last several years I have spent between 4 and 7 days ice fishing Henrys Lake.
In the past Damon checked without fail almost every day that I fished. He came out and checked everyone everyday.
Last year I ice fished 6 days and was only checked one time.
I'm one of the people who likes to see the F&G because I believe it slows down poaching and unethical behavior. By the way I didn't see anyone doing anything wrong.

Fished at Henrys 3 full days and had 6 or 7 days at 4 other lakes without being checked last season. Only checked once in Idaho and Utah when Ice fishing the last 120 days over 20 years.
When steelhead fishing is a different story, Once every 5-7 days on average.

I have never been checked at Henry's, open water or ice. I was checked 4 times last year and 5 times so far this year. I was only checked once on the ice last year. That was at weston res.

I think that it is to cold. For the F&G to check. But, maybe they just run your licence plates on your rig? Heck, they are not dummies.

I have never fished that area cause i am from the Caldwell area.. But around here i have been fishing to Lake Lowell, Cj Strike, And Brownlee probably more then 50-60 times an have been asked for my license once. I very rarely see F&G here but that may be just me

I'm also not from E Idaho, but I have fished and hunted Lake Lowell for over 50 years and have only been checked twice. Once an officer was waiting as I came out of the brush while wading for bass. He thought I might be a carp bow hunter without a fishing license. The other time two officers were in a jet boat. I was wading the outer edges of the trees and they came near in their boat and had me take out my license. They read it with a pair of binoculars. The county sheriff's patrol has checked my boat several times.

I fished Henry's 3-4 days this last year and was never checked. I also fished a few other lakes/reservoirs and was never checked...but then again even on open water I maybe get checked 2-3 times a year and I fish at least 2 days a week.
I have seen the F&G many times while out fishing and they have even talked to me while fishing or preparing to fish and they didn't ask to see my license. I am all for them checking and cutting down on illegal fishing because it ruins it for the rest of us.

I fished five days last winter at Henry's and was checked by the same person 4 of them . She never checked my licence . Just wanted to know how long we had been fishing and how many fish we had caught . I was checked twice at Pal

Fished it 9 times on the ice last year and checked 3 times.....I like it personally. Other than there I have been checked one time in 32 years. I would like to see more checks personally on big popular waters cough cough south fork cough cough in the summer would be a great place to start .

I did not ice fish Henrys last season, but out of the four openers I have been to, I have been checked twice. I was checked this past Sunday. I have ice fished Henrys a couple of times and did not get checked. I have a feeling that F & G is out in full force during the opener.

I did not fish Henrys but other places I fished were Mackay, Chesterfield, and Deep Creek.
I never got checked at any of the places I fished.
