finally a bass worth showing off - Nick1983 - 05-18-2012
Went out Wednesday and spotted some monster bass and couldn't get them to bite. Went out Thursday morning before work and had this pig in about 15 minutes! May not be big to some of you bass guys, but I went absolutely nuts (and I still think it was big). Fishid4life went too, and he got one about the same size... He may not post his pic because he's half naked in it hahaha! Not bad for a catfish guy huh? Didn't get weights or measurements, and the fish was quickly released after photo op. So friggin cool.

Cool. could you see if that big girl was on a bed? I ask because the bottom of its tail looks red.
If so you should go back there next year at the end of may and see if she comes back.

Good eye... didn't even notice that. It seemed like they would chase anything that came by. I wanted to get the fish back in the water quickly since I knew it was probably setting up a bed. Fish went right back to the same area and sat.
My friend caught another one, about the same size... perhaps even bigger, and there was one more in that spot that was quite a bit bigger than the two we caught. I didn't see it on Thursday though. I figure I'll leave them alone for a while and let them do their thing, and go and greet a few more post-spawn [cool]
I guess I'll settle for some sturgeon and catfish in the meantime... haha

I know exactly where you are at from the pic. Awesome fish! From the looks of where you were at, I swear that is the same one I tried to catch most of Sunday morning. No interest. I go there quite a bit and catch a lot. I had no idea they were that big until I saw that one. Congrats!
