Most Effective type of lure for brook trout - BassMaster734 - 12-30-2011 I have been trying for 6 months to catch a brookie that was legal to keep, and i have caught rainbows and browns, but never brookies. I'm fishing the Esopus Creek in new york. I was wondering if anyone has had luck with a certain type of lure for brookies. Trout love their spots. Jakes, or spinners that have red or black dots seem to trigger a good response. Gold, Silver seem to resonate with trout around my area anyway. Some will swear by the Blue Fox spinner brand. I like Panther Martins too. Plus been making some of my own. Welcome aboard, and good luck! Re: [CoyoteSpinner] Most Effective type of lure for brook trout - BassMaster734 - 12-30-2011 Ok thats good with the spots because i have 4 lures that are speckled! 1 spoon and 3 Spinners. I also wonder, would a trout go for a crankbait? I included the pictures of my speckled lures. [signature] Re: [BassMaster734] Most Effective type of lure for brook trout - Fielder - 11-16-2012 BUMP.
