palisades report 12-24 - oregonguy - 12-25-2011
Went fishing on christmas eve. The ice is forming on the main lake mainly south. Thin ice on indian and blowout. no ice on big elk at all. The creek side of big elk is where we went and it was a solid 8-12 inches all around. We fished from 4pm to 9pm. I took my dad who is over from oregon out to see what he thought about ice fishing. The bite didn't start until 730pm. We ended up catching 5 fish and missing around 8. We finished the night with a nice 4lb laker.

I fished it this morning and did not do well. Lost one at the hole, marked half a dozen on the flashed but interest them.
Six inches of snow, an inch of slush/water, and ten inches of ice.
