Kastmasters and single hooks - harlin - 12-23-2011 After hooking too many fish on the outside with trebles, I decided to switch all my spoons, and Kastmasters to single hooks. My question is: does it matter which direction the hook is facing? So far, I've made the switch on some Swedish Pimples and my Kastmasters. I'm thinking the point of the hook should be on the front side of the lure. Does it make a difference whether I'm retrieving or jigging? It's pulling 360's all the way back to the boat. If the spinner rotates independent of the lure, hook facing up. Before the trebles were so small a Wiper could pull it out or even straighten it. [signature] |
