American Falls 12-22 - flyfishingfool - 12-23-2011
I fished American Falls for a few hours this afternoon for the first time. I thought it was a fun place to fish despite the slow fishing. Fishing was best at about 4:00 til dark. I ended up with 7 perch, between 3"-6" or so. I caught most of them using a swedish pimple as a flasher and dropping a little ratfinke off of it. I wouldn't have caught anything if I didn't have my camera. The bite was really lite and I watched them all take it without feeling a thing. I saw a lot of perch on the camera and a random whitefish as well, but I didn't see any trout. I also had a nice fish on that took my jig as I was dropping it so I never saw it on the camera. By the time I figured out why my line started dropping so much faster than usual it was too late so I didn't get a good hook set, but it was fun for the 5 seconds it ran my drag.
