Roberts Gravel Pond Report - OvidCreek - 12-05-2011 Greetings, Wow was it windy today was the first on the ice at Roberts with 90% of the pond covered with 4'' of solid clear ice; the causeway still has open water and it was filled with geese. Fished in the deepest spot; you die hards will know where I am talking[ ![]() The biggest fact is that they are as small as always; I filleted every one and if I got one ounce of meat I would be shocked. I am posting a pic to make you all jealous, you guys coming from all over the state to fish Henry's will probably extend your stays one day just to fish this amazing place.[sly] I do hope it is back lots of kids learn to ice fish here. I am now tempted to start missing church for fish like that.[laugh] Windriver [signature] Re: [OvidCreek] Roberts Gravel Pond Report - MMDon - 12-05-2011 Makes me think The Big Mud must be about fishable! Mackay can't be far behind! [signature] Re: [OvidCreek] Roberts Gravel Pond Report - cpierce - 12-05-2011 I am sure that the rest of the perch in there appreciate the reduction of the competition. Good on you to take the time to fillet those little buggers. It sure takes a lot of them at that size to make a good meal, but they sure do taste great. They sure look a lot bigger when they swim right in front of the camera. It was my first outing for the year and I just wanted to catch something. I also managed one trout. I wish they would get a little bit bigger. [signature] Re: [OvidCreek] Roberts Gravel Pond Report - Belasko - 12-05-2011 Wow! A 6" perch from Roberts! It's practically a pond record! [ ![]() [signature] Re: [Belasko] Roberts Gravel Pond Report - cpierce - 12-05-2011 That is definitely one place that could use a couple of tiger muskie. Maybe even just one would do it. [signature] |
