Jerry, Chickamauga, crappie, 11-25-2011, Jake - FishNews - 11-27-2011 Jake (my German Shepherd) and I fished out of the cemetery ramp at Soddie Lake on Black Friday. Left the ramp about 10:00 am and it wasn’t too busy (yet). By noon I had 18 crappie. (Jake hadn’t caught any, but he licked every one.) All but 5 were over 11 1/2 inches (my legal limit size); the largest was 13 1/2 inches. I kept 6 fat ones for supper. My wife, Coco, baked them with those canned onion rings on top and smothered with ranch dressing––yum-m!!

The fish were by structure, 8 feet deep, over 20-25 feet of water. I fished 1/16 ounce BG jigs. I missed 5 or 6 more including a real nice one that was almost in the boat; as Labman will tell you, I don’t always set the hook very hard.

It was a good day for me. Then, when I lifted my trolling motor to head to my third spot, the cord broke. Yikes! It was very hard to get the trolling motor out of the water and secured on deck––but eventually I got it. Fortunately, I carry some tools and my trusty Channel Locks gripped the short cord. Had to head home early.

Does anyone know how to get jted photos and resize them on a Mac. I’m using a new iMac now, and it does pictures its own way––or I’m not up-to-date. |
