What type of fish is this? - SEcity - 09-19-2011 I grew up in the Bahamas handline fishing in saltwater so I'm just now getting used to freshwater fish and using a rod. Anyway, a few days ago I went fishing in the retention lake behind my house and I caught my first fish. It was about 6 inches long (maybe longer) and I hooked it only about a foot away from the shore. Today I went fishing and caught the same thing so what type of fish it.
