Lower Provo - night_flyguy - 08-25-2011 Went to the lower Provo Monday night to fish the clouds of caddis that come off in the evening. At least that was the plan. The water is still high for this time of year and there were very few bugs flying around. When its normally epic evening caddis this time of year (and earlier) there were very few fish rising. I didn't go there to nymph and I didn't try it. Stuck with caddis patterns and got one to rise. That's it. Saw some other guys hook up as it got dark. Very few risers that night. The abnormal fishing year continues. Strange season indeed [signature] Re: [night_flyguy] Lower Provo - baetisman - 08-25-2011 It has been a strange year, although in my past experience, by the time the end of August rolls around the evening caddis on the Provo are not quite as reliable as earlier in the summer, particularly as they are in late July. Staying past the time when you can't even see your fly anymore increases the odds, though. [signature] |
