Cut your Zonker to about 1/2 length, tie in some flashbau or tinsel to the sides and paint a real big yellow eye on them.
Really looks like a baby shad then.
Wipers love them like that.

Thanks for reporting on Willard Bay....and what you were using. For how many people replied on the "Weirdo at Willard" that they would be there fishing on Sunday I thought there would be lots more information coming in from the Bay.....Maybe they all got skunked! It was either that good or that bad!

Yes bad. 1 cat on a Rapala in the first 5 minutes and then nothing!

I was fly fishing with a modified white zonker. I tie it with goat hair rather than rabbit strips. I did tie it short, 1 1/2 inches, like Troll suggested, but no eyes. I will have to try the yellow eyes.
