I got a Durango shakespeare fishing rod and zebco 202 crank reel for 11 bucks at walmart , good deal or not ?

If you're targeting small fresh water species, it's just fine. The price is right where it's suppose to be. Short answer, yes. [

some of the old 202 modles were the greatest. as a kid in the last sentury I restled many a 15-20 pound carp.
the barby poles are similar to what you picked up and have in recent years been reported to have pulled in record cats in excess of 40 pounds.
I would target bass gills, perch, crappie with the new modle, I dont know if I would trust it to do battle after battle with carp....
