A newer fly fishing company has a good deal on beads and cones .. but they offer the cones as slotted cones.. .has anyone ever used slotted cones and if so what are the advantages or di

I have not...I have the slotted beads. They allow you to get the thread way up in there and are great for down eye hooks, but I don't care for them much.

sis you know who Im talking about on this.. and was just wondering about them ... for whatever reason I have it in my feeble brain that they would have a tendency to fall or pop off the hook... :-)

No, not at all. They are really cool...I don't use cones much anymore.
