Anyone Been to or Fished the Salmon near Stanley Recently? - FISHID4LIFE - 06-07-2011
I'm going to be in Stanley this weekend and was wanting to do some fishing and was curious how the river was looking. With most rivers running high right now. Anybody know how the water has been?
Checking Fish and game website looks like Salmon fishing will open up there on the 9th, wouldn't mind trying that but never fished for salmon before I imagine pretty much do the same stuff you would for Steelhead. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated

Might be kinda hard to fish the upper salmon. Its crankin right now and increasing. I would have to guess its pretty offcolored .

Yesterday below Challis I saw a guy launching a jet boat into that high speed solid brown water. I wish I could have seen his plan.
And they are finally fixing the little camp ground at Ellis. They have loads of boulders and smaller rock and are protecting the mud bank before the whole thing washes away. I think they got worried about the bridge enough to take action.
