I am new to fishing, I am looking for some good fishing spots in and around Pocatello and up to 45 minutes away. I am just pole fishing with my teenagers and great spots or advice ?

I don't really know what to tell you. A good starter creek is Birch Creek, but it might be more than 45 min away. The run off is messing with a lot of areas.
I would say try Crystal Springs Pond. There was one report of a no fish day there this weekend, but they do stock it frequently.

Hawkins reservoir is another good option. I remember catching some really nice fish there in my younger years just dinking around from the bank. Plus, it's a pretty short drive from poky. Good luck!
