New rod and reel - Drew_Lowery - 06-05-2011

[inline 243332_10150269321656499_692711498_8860150_2947092_o.jpg][Image: happy.gif]I know the rod is a Penn Spinfisher, and the reel is a master 960, I got everything including line for forty dollars, but can anyone tell a little more about the rod/reel, also if anyone has used a set up thats similar any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would have no problem chacin after the biggest of walleys with this combo..

It would be a good carp and cat rod as well, I like the battle ball feature,

looks nice, for that pirce I would be vary happy.

The rod is in the mid range in regards to quality, and the reel on the lower mid range. I would agree with most of what Dave said, would handle most of what you would run into in fresh water. You did get a good deal. That reel, however, I wouldn't trust on larger blue and flathead cats. I use 65 and 80 lb stand up gear, and hand sized live baits for the larger cats. Would be fine for channel cats, using stink baits and such.
