Is it finally starting to warm up? - StacyR - 05-01-2011 In April, there were only five days over 60 degrees. I'm so tired of the 50s. What a pain. 10 day forecast shows temps in the mid to high 60s, with 70s a possibility by the middle of next week. Here's hoping it will pan out, and the bass and crappie will finally start their pre-spawning patterns. Crossing my fingers... I dont care what the forecasters say. If it gets to 70 next week I might just eat a nightcrawler myself. I am supposed to go out tomorrow afternoon to catch and tag bass in a private lake. Do I think I will have any success? No, the water is just too dang cold. But we can all hope for warmer weather, right? Next weekend I have a 2 day outing to Duck Valley. I expect to get snowed on and get frostbite on my toes during the night in my tent. Just my spring fishing 2011 pessimism! View on 4/30 and it was 39 degrees and snowing hard when I left at 4 in the afternoon. The fishing was really good, I caught about a dozen total and a couple of nice ones including this biggest one.
