its the eggs you get out of salmon or steelhead that is cured or tied in sacks

Everyone uses the canned eggs up in michigan. But, I am not sure why they use them. Ive never had any success for any chum type techniques. Drop some flies, spoons, j-plugs, meat rigs, in the water and start pullin the fish out!

If we are talking about bait, it is for sure a cured egg sack. If we are talking about a lure trying to elicit a strike from a fish who is otherwise uninterested, a J-Plug is the way to go for me
