Hi everyone,
Been a reader here for a long time and have enjoyed all of the information. Thought in would finally speak up and say hi and pass along an email I received from Las Vegas Boat Harbor regarding Lake Mead and the government shutdown if it happens

Hello All:
First off if you know of a slip renter that has not received this e-mail and they would like to be included in these very important messages, have them contact me either via phone or my e-mail: valm@boatinglakemead.com
If a shutdown should occur it will go into effect at 9:01p.m. pacific Daylight time on Friday, April 8, 2011. (12:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time).
If the Federal Budget does not pass, Las Vegas Boat Harbor & Lake Mead Marina will be required to close our doors to the public. No services will be available to the public. If a shutdown does occur, visitors may access their boats for security purposes only, they may NOT recreate on their boat (i.e.: they may not take it out on the water and they are NOT allowed to STAY on their boat). Las Vegas Boat Harbor & Lake Mead Marina will have our regular security people on duty 24/7 and essential managers and dock maintenance crews in the event of an emergency. The power will remain ON.
Road Closures: At this point it is possible that both Northshore and Lakeshore Drives may be closed, but Park Service is still waiting confirmation of this fact. If these roads are closed you will not be allowed access to the park.
All of us at Las Vegas Boat Harbor and Lake Mead Marina want to let you all know that we will NOT leave our marinas unattended.
