DC Browns - HYDROFISH - 04-03-2011

Hit DC on friday trolling with downriggers and gold f-7 flat fish, we managed to pick up a few nice browns

[#000050]We were at DC on Saturday trolling for Rainbows. The fish are running around 30' deep. The water temp is around 42-44 degrees and the fish are still scattered. We did pretty well until around 2:ooPM when the wind monstor rolled in. It got rough enough that is was tough to load a boat. We managed around 10 fish in the 1.5 lb range. No ice left.[/#000050]

5 feet down 125 back from the boat, The fish are shallow rite now that is where the water is the warmest

Interesting...... Never thought of using a down-rigger at 5', but I guess it would help an F-7 to get under the surface a bit. Thanks for the info. I've always used lead core with a 30'-50' or so leader and 1 to 2.5 colors when using those small lures and the fish are high.
