So I put new submersible lights on the boat trailer (back and side running lights) and read a note in the instructions.
The note stated any trailer 80" or wider had to have (3) three additional lights on the rear, 6" apart but not more than 12".
Is this a federal DOT thing or for boats too?

I think so looked at my trailer and i have a red light bar in the back center of trailer with 3 red lights on it. Seen them at Wal-mart in led style.
