Firewood policy changes for campers and picnickers - FishNews - 03-30-2011 To better protect your forests from harmful diseases and pests, the DNR has a new firewood policy. You can bring firewood into a state park, reservoir, state forest or state fish & wildlife area but only if it is: "¢ kiln-dried scrap lumber<br /> "¢ from your home, with the bark removed (provided your county has no emerald ash borer or other quarantine)<br /> "¢ purchased from a store and bears a USDA compliance stamp<br /> "¢ purchased from a local firewood vendor outside the DNR property and has a state compliance stamp<br /> "¢ purchased from the property campstore or on-site firewood vendor and you have a copy of its state compliance agreement<br /> Read more information about the firewood policy<br /> or send us questions. |
