I learn so much from all of you. Windriver [signature] Re: [flygoddess] Chironomid Swap - idahopanfish - 03-23-2011 Thanks those are great! [signature] Re: [flygoddess] Chironomid Swap - lucabrasi - 03-23-2011 I did not participate but those are way cool. Very nice stuff. I am curious. Is the bite very soft on these in a lake like nymph fishing in a river? I guess this is what they are at heart is a nymph pattern. I tried some of these (other patterns) last summer in a couple lakes without any luck. It just seems it would be the way to catch fish for sure. [signature] Re: [lucabrasi] Chironomid Swap - flygoddess - 03-23-2011 It is a strong take most the time. I am including a slip indicator with these flies. That is my preference, but a fast sinking line and jigging so to speak also works. The indicator is great. See it go down, you just pull your line, then lift your rod. [signature] Re: [lucabrasi] Chironomid Swap - windriver - 03-23-2011 I have been following flygodess's technique for a while now. I have only used it on prolific high mountain lakes but the slip indicator is the way to go. I use the slip indicator on lakes, rivers, streams, just about every where I go. You explained it once to me, but I haven't had opportunity to try it out yet. [signature] Re: [flygoddess] Chironomid Swap - windriver - 03-28-2011 I Just received my flies. They are all great. There are some really talented tiers in that group. I can't wait to try them. Thanks flygodess for doing all the work and for the slip indicator. Windriver [signature] |
