Overton Arm - Telbone - 03-04-2011 Heya guys, Does anyone know of a decent area to net shad in the Overton arm of the lake? Thanks, Mark [signature] Re: [Telbone] Overton Arm - TheWhizzle - 03-04-2011 If you can toss your net without catching wood, you should be fine. I would go left out of the Echo bay marina and find shallow, long coves. Just hit everything that looks like it could hold a fish, and you should come up with something. If you end up with a gizzard, fly line that sucker on a big rig. The Gizzard shad are different than the threadfin shad and will be shallow. There are two area's that you might try, the Muddy and the Virgin rivers. Might even try the backs of some coves. A cast net will NOT work in deep water, the shad will just swim down and away. [signature] |
