Rig your boat for "LOG" Breaking if you fish the Overton Arm - lvfishingdude - 01-31-2011
The few comments about debris up in the overton arm is now understatements. It honestly made the fishing not fun. There is so much crap in the water you can't get your lines out long enough for the chance to catch a fish since your lure would always end up hooking up some debris.
I uploaded several pictures to a album from this weekend. I have never heard of anything like this happening at the lake

Yeah, trolling was rough just trying to keep the lines out of the crap. I think I'm going up on Tuesday. I may go south to avoid some of that. Or maybe I'll hit Mohave for some LMB SMB action. I'll bet they don't have a floating forest out there...

These are from 3 weeks ago taken as far up the arm as I could get. This stuff made a dam across the whole arm making the last mile of the arm unreachable. [shocked] Crazy

so whats with all the debris? is this a normal thing? i haven't been to the lake since early october, but i see everyone talkin about all the crap in the water, is it like that all over the lake? thanx guys. i'll be back on the lake in bout 2 weeks im excited.

On friday we went out of hemmingway and i didn't see anything like what is up on the overton arm. I found a nice New Balance shoe floating this weekend so I picked it up in hopes I would find the other one. But i failed. it was actually my size and decent looking if i would of cleaned them up.
I was hoping i would find the floating beer fridge i heard about last week, because i needed one after navigating through that crap.

All the dried out wood from tamarisk and other shrubs that died as the water went down are now being set afloat as the water level has started to rise. It is worst in the Overton arm from what I've seen/heard, not so bad at boulder.

Wow didnt think it was that bad in the overton arm until vegaskid posted up those pics.I did see a increase garbage and debris in boulder in the bays towards old las vegas bay. Nothing like the pics you guys showed.

thats hardcore right there whizzle, and doable; as the water is 6-13' and a month ago I nailed a half dozen 1-1.5 lmb in that area on partially submerged trees that were there prior to the big storms.
