Hey i was just wondering how thick the ice is at grays or big sandy if anyone could help it would be apprciated [

I was out at big sandy last Sat. There was 12 inches of Ice; however, there was also a lot of water on it. It was kind of hard to get out on the ice without getting wet. I can't imagine it got much better this week.

Anyone have info on current ice conditions? I'm hoping to head down there tomorrow but would like to know what the ice is like with the warmer temps as of late. Any info is appreciated!

Headed out this afternoon in hopes of doing some ice fishing but found unsafe conditions at grey's landing, big sand bay, and norton bay. A good amount of open water around the edges in most places and very sketchy looking ice out further. There were large slabs of ice shifting and floating around. At big sand bay I walked a bit along the south side and found a few spots that looked like with a long plank one could get on safely but I was alone and had no interest in taking a bath. If I had been smart, I would have taken my fly rod to fish the open water but oh well. We'll need a cold snap to make it solid again. Maybe I'll head to magic or walcott tomorrow. Tight lines.
