Glendale / Marcum showdown - FishingSteve - 12-20-2010 Fished Glendale today, first time out with my Marcum showdown. Ice was 3 to 4 inches and spotty! I was fishing by the dam and there was open water within about 50 feet of where I was fishing. The Showdown worked great I caught two or three Perch that only measured 3", it was fun being able to see them going to the bait and being ready to set the hook. I caught probably 30 fish total, most of them were small planters. I kept 4 of the larger ones for dinner. I also drove to the North boat ramp of Twin Lakes. I was on my way to a X-mas party and my wife wouldn't let me check out the ice. Didn't look like anyone has been fishing there yet, but the ice looked better than Gendale. My Dad caught a bass that was 15" and really fat. We caught a lot of planters as well. The ice was 6". The edges are really slushy but once you are out on the ice there is no slush. [signature] |
