The proposed fishing gear restrictions for coldwater species appears ready to be signed by the DNRE Director at the December meeting of the NRC. This proposal has been tweaked a number of times over the last three months due to public input. MUCC has consistently supported the process to arrive at this set of recommendations, which has involved several opportunities for stakeholders and the public to give feedback to the department.
