I found out yesterday that one of the 8 points I've been scouting was hit by a car about 200 yards from my blind.

Sat in some thick brush on one side of a tributary of the cedar river.
Clear view of a open area on the other side of the river , lots of trails over there .
A doe comes up right beside me , looks around and steps forward , my heart is racing... . It looks around a couple times , bobs it's head and takes another step.
I raise my rifle and tap it twice on the base of the neck just above the sholder , it turns and takes a three second stare at me , had to be a "Oh Shit" moment for that deer and bolts off crashing through the woods .
You just don't get that kind of rush sitting at home .

I saw 4 does yesterday, all adults in a single group. All walking, they were a bit of a distance for me to drop flop shots at, "well across the property line and out of bounds" so I let them go unspooked in hopes I will get to see them again on another day.
