Help with Hunt 1068 (Area 63A) Either Sex DEER - tob04002 - 10-07-2010
Hey, my buddy has an either sex mule deer tag for controlled hunt 1068 (Area 63A). The hunt goes from October 5th until November 8th. It is short range only.
We are thinking about going out this weekend and looking and are not sure where to go really...He isn't picky for a huge buck or anything, he would even take a doe.
Does anybody have any help, input, or possible places to find some deer?

Your best bet for a 63A mule deer is up by heise. Lots of it is private so you might have to knock some doors. Also, be careful about where the area ends, it's a pretty easy to accidentally just walk out of that unit, it's not very big and it comes to a corner by heise. It's a pretty tall order to get a mulie in 63A, but I'm sure it can be done. Good luck!

you can do i wont say its imposible but that is mostly whitetail in that area most of the mulies are gonna be on the north side of the road up in the cedars and that is not in 63a you might catch some crossing over into the fields just pass the golf course but thatr is private land the guy who ownes it will ussually give you permission to hunt those fields where the small plane runway is as long as you dont drive you vehichle in the fields. make sure you ask permission his house is back in the trees by the river on the otherside of the fields i have hunted a few times.
