[#0000ff]Actually it is a squid jig. You rig it with heavy wire to keep the sharp beaks of the squid from cutting you off and then drop it down. Some are glow in the dark for catching big squid at night or in very deep water. The squid wrap their tentacles around it and get hooked on the sharp points.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]When you fish for squid you have to wear a rain coat because they squirt you with water...or ink...when you get them to the top of the water and want to lift them into the boat.[/#0000ff]

2. Jig rigorously 2-3 times and hold 5-10 seconds. Retrieve slowly.
3. Repeat Step 2 several times and when a squid strikes, tighten the line and retrieve slowly.[/size][/#000080][#000080][size 2]
Method 2[/size][/#000080][#000080][size 2][Image: SqidJig2.jpg][/size][/#000080][#000080][size 2]1. Rig multiple Squid Jigs as shown above with a weight at the end of your line.
2. Drop to bottom
3. Jig up and down and wait.

That is a squid jig. It's used for catching squid. The squid glams on to those spikes, and when you reel it in slow if there are squid around they are attracted to it and caught.
