Fav Fishing Spot on the South Fork - FishingRookie - 09-07-2010 I have been hoping to take some friends and family out on the South Fork this upcoming week and would like to see where everyone thinks is the best place on the river. I would prefer something between Pali ![]() I am somewhat of a novice fly fisherman so any advice on areas and flies would be appreciated as well. Jus for the record my fav spot on the SF is near twin bridges. It has a lot of easy access and I can always pull in a couple browns in no time. Lorenzo has some good side channels but I have always been the guest down there and don't know the river very well. Up in Swan valley there are some good side channel assesable from the road on the west side of the river that takes off just before the swan valley bridge. By the campground there are a few, also a few miles up there road there are a few channels that are wadeable. Water is still pretty high so be careful wading. As far as what to use...http://www.bigfishtackle.com/forum/Idaho_Fishing_Forum_C22/gforum.cgi?post=611587;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;page=unread#unread Went over that in that thread should be pretty similar this week. Ive also fished the Kellys Island campground which is a couple miles ahead of Heise and done really good. I just fished with worms and rapalas and caught fish. But I watched people pull them in on fly's to. But anyways good luck. These places have a lot of good access and if you are willing to walk a little you can get away form places that get fished a lot. Fishing on the south fork has been pretty good the last few weeks.
