Slow but not skunked! - albinotrout - 09-06-2010 Well on the way down to Grand Junction today I noticed the Colorado river was calmer than it has been the last few weeks. So I grabbed my gear and headed to watson island there in town to see what I could find. Water has cleared up and down a little about two feet since I was there last. Rigged up the red and white spoon that has worked so well in the past. Hooked into a nice roundtail chub right off the bat. Had a couple of hits but then nothing. Switched to a chartreuse jig floated under a bobber. Nothing. Then went to a fire orange and white stripe spoon. Had another roundtail hit that then nothing. May have been slow but at least I wasn't skunked.[cool] Forgot to take the camera with me today so sorry no pics. [:/] I was tempted to go over to west lake and play with the green sunfish, should have done it. [signature] |
