Treasure among us - pa - 08-14-2010
Hi Folks,
My Sage and all my flies were stolen out of my truck a couple weeks ago up on the Provo . [mad] Hope whoever
got it takes good care of it.
Well, when the Fly Goddess heard about it, she sprang into action to help. She made up a fly box full of flies,
2 furled leaders, and an assortment of slip sinkers and gave them to me. She would not take any payment for them. She said she just wanted to help get me back in the
dle as soon as possible. What a treasure she is to out sport and our community. Joni has taught me lots the last couple of years and I am proud to call her my friend. I hope we all realize what we have in her.Planning on Vernon Reservoir Monday, and will let you know how I did. Don't know how I could go wrong with Goddess tied flies. Thanks Joni.[

Sorry to hear about your loss. I lost a Sage that someone took a few years ago. Not a very good memory.
Joni - thanks for your example. If everyone in the world had that kind of spirit and attitude, the world would not be in the mess it is now. I'm sure the flies you tied were awesome - I've looked at some of the patterns you have posted pics of over the years and have been AMAZED! In particular I remember a cased caddis pattern you posted that looked so real I had to blink a few times to make sure it wasn't the real thing on a hook [
]. Anyhow, I really believe a good deed should never go unnoticed. Even though I haven't had the privilege to fish with you yet, I am very appreciative of the help and advice you have given me as I've prepared for various fishing trips.Thanks again for your example to all of us. - Josh

sorry to hear of your loss .. and have to be blunt and say that sucks... but
I also have to agree with you 1000% on how unassuming and generous FG is.. she has helped me in so many ways and quite litterally kept me interested in the sport of fly fishing and fly tying.... on more occassions than I could ever count she has sent me flies.. and leaders.. etc... all were sent without expectation or mention of anything in return.. she is simply a very experienced fly fisherperson who loves this sport and loves helping anyone with anything she can..
in other words.. she is an awesome person.. and awesome fly fisher.. and an awesome sis.. :-) ... [

Sorry to hear about your loss. One fishing brother to another, its hard to replace a rod you are used to using. It was great to hear a fellow Angler stepped up to help ease the loss. Very good post.
