Oakley Reservoir - aintnonookie - 07-28-2010
Does anyone have any info on fishing Oakley right now. My hubby and I are looking for a new spot to explore this weekend and we have heard that this can be good fishing. I have never caught a walleye. Is there good camping around there?

There is not a campsite at the resevoir but there is an area to set up your camp. It is kind of steep and rocky but around the boat launch you could set up. I have not fished there for a while but last time we caught several walleye in the back waters area. Trout seem to be good from the boat launch to the dam. We fished in about 15-20 ft of water and did the best for walleye.

The camping is all primitive, and some times tuff to find a half level spot. Not sure what kind of boat you have but if it's on a trailer make sure you have a cover for it. The last time I was there the road was all washboard and the road was like flour.
