I'd like to try my hand at making some. Anyone know where I can get animal blood around the Boise area? I'd prefer chicken, but beef will do.

Try the grocery store in the butcher dept. I know they often have livers that appear to be in blood. The next place I'd check is a butcher in the area. Should be in the yellow pages.

You might try a feed mill. Some will have powdered blood. I work for a fish feed mill and we have powdered fishmeal, squid meal, and powdered blood, poultry, and feathermeal blend.
The mill beside us sells dried bloodmeal. Ron
