Teton River Report - 84toy - 06-06-2010
I fished the teton river at the old dam site for about 2 hours on Monday morning. I did ok considering the high discolored water. I caught a 12" hybrid, an 18.5" rainbow and lost a bigger cutthroat by the bank. My buddy got two 12" hybrids. All were on Rapalas. I cant wait until the water comes down, I had a blast on the teton last year.

Are you talking about the old Linderman dam, or the one that broke and flooded the valley?

welcome to bft....yes, once the water drops a little and clears...that river will stay hot for at least 3 months...one of the state's "hidden gems"....if you ever get a chance to float it-do it!

It was at the dam that broke and flooded the valley. Where is this old Linderman dam you mentioned? The Teton is my favorite river and I have never heard of it.

It's upstream quite a ways. When I went there, you had to get permission to access the jeep road down to the river, where the remains of the old dam are. There's an operation on the North side of the highway that looks a lot like the experiment station that's a ways further up. It's been a lot of years since I went in there, and things have probably changed since then. Different people may own it now, it was the Lindermans back then, and that was pre-Teton dam era. Google Earth co-ordinates are about 43* 55' 38.00" N and 111* 23' 11.26" W

Sounds like a decent morning even with the high water...I love the teton as well and cant wait to get out and do some fly fishing on it.
