MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [peter805] steel fly rod ??? - flygoddess - 06-07-2010 I have a steel telescopic rod that was my Grandfathers. Heavy as heck and NO flex LOL. Cool conversation piece and "I" would try it once or twice...LOL The tiny stripping guide is definitely old school with small diameter silk lines. Means it is not going to load todays lines well at all. The reel is cool looking. Got a pinch of the Hardy look. Is it spring pawl or gear? Worth $13. for sure. I do have my grandpappy's propped in the corner. Not worried about it warping....LOL [signature] Re: [flygoddess] steel fly rod ??? - macfly55 - 06-08-2010 okay.. so this rod is made of steel?? is it heavy? I read that article and would love to see the rod where the line runs thru it instead of exterior guides... :-) MacFly [signature] Re: [macfly55] steel fly rod ??? - flygoddess - 06-08-2010 My telescopic one is quite heavy. [signature] Re: [flygoddess] steel fly rod ??? - macfly55 - 06-08-2010 reminds me of when I was a kid using a car antenna to catch sunfish out of a pond on my grandparents farm. :-) MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [flygoddess] steel fly rod ??? - peter805 - 06-08-2010 Thank you for your input Joni. Thank you Peter[/quote] Like Joni said, we have one like it. BTW, it's reversible too. Check out the handle and the little screw. You should be able to go from a fly rod[blush] to a spinning outfit by reversing the handle.[ ][signature] |
