That looks like a channel cat, the red in the tail dose look a bit misleading.

The real question is, where did you catch it, with that info we can positivly identify it for you.

If you were fishing in a stock pond that is a need to know as well, Dont need to know wich pond, just that it is a stock pond.

it look like an electric catfish. its usually a nocturnal fish. They feed mainly on other fish by incapacitating their prey with electric discharges. Although electro-receptive system is widely present in the catfishes but electric catfishes a very well-developed electric organ, which is derived from anterior body musculature and it lines the body cavity.
