I just found out don't have to work tomorrow (may the 17th)and was thinking some crappie sounded good but being a poor broke newlywed collage student i have no way to get out on a reservoir so does anyone know if the crappie are close enough to shore to be caught and if so where? Also im always looking for folks to go out with shoot me a PM if you want to meet up or don't wanna share that secret spot

well the weather may have shut them down, I don't know but last Sunday we caught around 100 crappie off the dock at The Narrows Campground. It's a new concrete dock that Idaho Power installed last year.
Don't tell anybody but chartruiese and white curly tail jigs worked awesome

Next time might try Cottonwood. The bite will be slow until the weather co-operates, though. Can't believe it's nearly June, and it's been down in the 30s at night.
Sure has been cruddy and unstable weatherwise this year.

tried cotton wood tried the narrows hiked probably 5 or six miles tried at the dam were i caught the only 5 crappie i saw all day. i then went down to the power plant park and sturgeon fished and picked up one. The surprising thing about the fish was he was tinny maybe two feet or so. the sturgeon in there must have spawned last year which is great news

Bug, that fish was planted by a joint IDF&G and Idaho Power program. The spawning success below Strike Dam is negligible.
A 2 foot sturgeon is more than 1 year old BTW...
