I grew up in Idaho Falls, and spent many days as a kid fishing birch creek (the one north of mudlake area) it was a great place to take a kid to learn to fish as we always caught a few. I now live in utah and was wondering if it was the same great place to take my kid we was thinking of going that way to do some camping.

Yep, still a great place to fish. They continue to stock it w/ trout on a regular basis. Wonderful spot to introduce the younguns to stream fishing.

I also use to spend a lot of time at birch creek when I was a kid. I have taken my nephews there a few times. It is a great place to take kids and you can awlays catch fish there.
