Quasimoto nymph - GordianKnot - 04-18-2010 Long time reader first time poster. Looking for a recipe and instructions to tie a quasimoto nymph. Anyone have one they're willing to share? [signature] Re: [HFT] Quasimoto nymph - flygoddess - 04-20-2010 You came up with about the same as I did...got no idea. [signature] Re: [GordianKnot] Quasimoto nymph - cpierce - 04-20-2010 I don't have the instructions, but it is a Pheasant tail nymph tied on a curved hook. http://www.orvis.com/store/product.aspx?pf_id=69AP&dir_id=1236&group_id=1248&cat_id=5842&subcat_id=7166&cm_mmc=Froogle*Prod_feeds*Prod_feeds*12082&cm_ven=performics&cm_cat=ShopWiki.com&cm_pla=NO&cm_ite=875&adv=875 [signature] Re: [flygoddess] Quasimoto nymph - albinotrout - 04-20-2010 Put a hook on this and try flinging it.[:p] ![]() [signature] Re: [cpierce] Quasimoto nymph - albinotrout - 04-20-2010 [quote cpierce]I don't have the instructions, but it is a Pheasant tail nymph tied on a curved hook. [url "http://www.orvis.com/...amp;adv=875[/quote]"]http://www.orvis.com/...amp;adv=875[/quote][/url] At least I now know what it looks like.[cool] [signature] Re: [flygoddess] Quasimoto nymph - HFT - 04-20-2010 I looked at the picture again and it might be the Peacock and grouse soft hackle next to it. Except the title of it says "Quasimoto P.T." (P.T.=pheasant tail) it also looks like one of them has red copper wire on it. Exasperating when a fly has one small material change, and it becomes a new fly with a new name and is bragged up. [signature] Re: [cpierce] Quasimoto nymph - gstott - 04-20-2010 Huh, I guess most of my nymphs are quasimotos. I usually tie on curved hooks. [signature] Re: [HFT] Quasimoto nymph - GordianKnot - 04-27-2010 Yaw, the basic description I had was a PT nymph on a curved hook and a copper bead tied with copper wire and red collar. I was hoping for an actual recipe to eliminate some guess work. Imuna tie some up and see what the experts think of my offerings. Thanks for the information. [signature] Re: [GordianKnot] Quasimoto nymph - HFT - 04-27-2010 Then that will be easy to duplicate.
