First time out Saturday - Bassnbob - 04-12-2010 Finally got off my butt and went fishing. How slow do you have to fish to catch large mouth in 48 degree water? I have heard that smallmouth will become really active at around 52 degrees and largemouth more like 58. Is that true? The smaller one I actually felt the bite but not the usual heavy thump. Both took the jig on the first fall. No hesitation on their part. I also caught a 5 to 6 lb cat on the jig. That was quite a battle. [ ![]() [signature] Re: [Bassnbob] First time out Saturday - AverysAdventure - 04-15-2010 Nice fish bnb! If you keep posting fish like that I'll have to break down and buy a Oregon mussle sticker after all. I got 5 smallies in 5 casts last saturday at Strike. Smallies are much easier in 48 degree water than largies. Slow was the key, and watchign where your line enterd the water. 3 of the 5 I never flet, just saw the line move a tiny bit... Nice toads Bob! [signature] |
