June 1st whats the best fishery? - firewalker - 03-07-2010 I will in Boise for the first week of June what is the hottest fishery at that time? I am open to bass, flyfishing what ever will get me the most action I could have access to a boat so if there is a hot lake please let me know.. when can you fish for salmon & or steelhead? Out of the two, I would say CJ would probably be more consistent, since the water level in Brownlee tends to be drawn down and fluctuate a lot more. All the warmwater fish should be in the shallows and hitting like mad in June. There were days last June when I caught over 100 decent sized crappies (mostly released). CJ has some great fishing but the HC complex is far better!!!!!!! If you don't want to have to even leave Boise or have to use a boat, the Boise River can be good fishing.
