Ice off - cpierce - 02-18-2010 Which are some of the earliest lakes in Southeast Idaho to loose their ice? Maybe just a harbor or two that opens up first? Anyone have any idea on the usual timing for Glendale? Twin? Daniels? etc Sorry. I don't ice fish so I am doing the "Get Lost Chant" to the ice gods. If you need a fishing fix and are willing to drive a little farther , the north and south fork of the snake are fishing well . Curt G. I guess I will have to take a weekend and go up river a ways. Could you tell me some areas that are good to try? I wade when conditions permit and fly fish. Are the rivers quite low? Are there icebergs? [signature] Re: [cpierce] Ice off - curt69 - 02-18-2010 The North Fork above StAnthony . The fishing is good and the river bottom is very slick . If you are going to wade it I suggest felt sole waders . The South Fork near Hiese .Where the shallow water drops into the deep pools . Curt G. I am light enough that I don't usually go out very deep in strong currents. I have really got cabin fever and NEED to get out soon! [signature] |
