murgtah does it freeze up? if not where to fish and with what?
derkys lakes in twin do they freeze up or stay open all winter?
i am looking for somewhere i can get some pan fish without driving to strike i am itching for some blue gill or crappie

near the swimming area dirkes lake has 5 inches of ice and there have been quite a few holes punched in it. while i was there i watched a little girl catch a 10in trout

I was out ice fishing at Dierkes last thursday. I didn't have much time so I thought what the heck. I searched for bluegill but couldn't find any. Found plenty of planter trout, one decent fish at 14 inches. The ice was 5-6 inches at all of the spots I fished but you could see open water down at the far end. If you go and find any bluegill let me know!
