Lake maps ??? - snakeriver - 01-05-2010 Anybody here had any luck finding any lake maps of the local lakes. You know the type that show the topography of the lake bed? I really think this would aid the icefisherman a lot. [signature] Re: [snakeriver] Lake maps ??? - BlueDuck - 01-05-2010 I have one (North Idaho Fish N' Lakes). It shows several of the lakes in the northern part of the state. Its helpful and gives you an idea, but not overly detailed. Id like to find some better maps also. The best I've done while mapping many lakes in the West for another site is to use Google Satellite. It allows you to see the color contours very well as far as depth goes. You can plainly see the shallows and drop offs as well as the old river channel on most lakes. ![]() [signature] Re: [MMDon] Lake maps ??? - Belasko - 01-05-2010 Are you referring to the google earth program for that? I've noticed it works well in the oceans but I've not had much luck w/ lakes so far on it. If you're thinking of a different program I'd love to know about it! I have used it many times as sometimes you can find topo maps from the 60's that have old logging roads that new maps won't show.
