That's a great question. I can't say that I currently have a favorite lure. It's always a matter of what's best for the current conditions. However, when I think back to the days of fishing with my father we always used purple worms rigged wacky style but with split shot 12 to 18 inches above the hook. We used to catch all kinds of bass on that rig. That would have to be the lure I'm most fond of just for the memories it brings back. I haven't tried that in years. Maybe it's time to give it another shot.
