sturgeon fishing - thebug - 10-15-2009
I'm new to the Twin Falls area and have few questions about local sturgeon holes.
Auger falls is it worth the two mile walk?
People keep telling me about the alligator farm hole near buhl how do i get there?
What seems to work the best for bait in the area?

There are plenty of places down that way just below the Jerome golf course is good and close but that hike down the canyon wouldn't be worth it in my opinion to get to the falls. the holes down but the alligators are just up stream from barberry's stop in at a gas station in buhl and they can tell you how to get there. Also look just below lower salmon dam In hagerman good fishing there all the way down to bliss.

Ive spent a ton of time there below lower salmon falls dam and there in the cabin hole jet hole etc. I'm just looking for a couple of places closer to where i live in Filer.

I have fished the area I think you are describing for years, and never heard that name before. Any chance are you talking above Loveridge (I think that is its name) bridge?

That is the bridge between Mt Home and Bruneau. I have wanted to launch there or at Black Sands Resort.

one of the best holes I know of for the sturg is about a mile down from the bridge take a boat or the road past crane falls

so is it best to cross the bridge and work your way into it from the crane falls lake side or the opposite side. Im a poor collage student who only has a Honda accord can i get that into there?

i had a tiberon and took it through there but be carfull go to crane falls go all the way down to the end watch for rocks but youll make it walk the ridge to the river them you cant miss it
