Put in at Chester Frost about 10:45 to do some prospecting for new crappie sites. I jumped around a lot, just sampling. Had 6 quality fish from a shallow dock with largest right at 15", all on 1/32 BG crystal shad with tail light. Tried a couple more fairly shallow docks and caught some fish on both of them, couple were very decent fish in the 12-13" range. I am seeing a pattern where when I pause the retrieve about 1/2 way back and let the bait drop I get a lot of hits. It almost seems to trigger a bite. Will watch this further to see if it continues to hold up.

Went from there to try deeper water off a bluff, picked up 4 keepers right away then the bite slowed, so moved on to channel marker. Caught 2 keepers there and then some deep structure with no luck. Decided to head in and hit 1 more shallow dock on the way and caught a crappie on 13 consecutive casts, these were smaller fish with about 1/2 being keepers. Headed for the dock having landed 30 keepers and 5-6 small ones, 1 bass, and several gills. All fish returned to the lake. Back at the dock at about 3:45. Sorry, no pictures, I will try to get some the next outing.

I hope to fish with Gator this week, and hopefully DK again soon; but I usually am solo, wife goes only occasionally. So if anyone on the board wants to fish together just PM me. I am fishing crappie right now, but can switch to bass, stripers, walleye,or whatever, but not catfishing (just not my thing). Always looking for good fishing company. I am retired so can go most anytime, but am not into working too hard at it. No 12 hour days.

Regards, Norman
